My Talented Sister!

What a Day!

Yesterday Elizabeth had the long awaited eye surgery. We could not have been more proud of her. She handled everything so well!

From talking to the doctors to walking down the hallway WITHOUT US, she just took it all in stride. She could have had us go with her, but for some reason she said she could do it! It was a long hour but we made it through and she was back in our arms again.

We will find out soon if it was a huge success, I feel like it was. We are in the first day of recovery and her eyes are a little sore, but she is doing great! I Love my daughter and all of you for praying for us!

Beautiful Journey

I have a friend who is, let's just say, on a journey. A beautiful journey (I am sure he would disagree with me) I think it's beautiful. I think he is going to be given a gift at the end of this journey that most of us will never fully comprehend. I had to share something he wrote. He is very talented and I hope you enjoy:


This is Chapter 1. This is where I'm at.

Prodigal...I'm sure that's what you call me

Lost my soul...when this world bought me
Leaving me cheapened and fooled
Where do you run to
When there's no one waiting?

When no one's listening?
I wish I hadn't found this out the hard way
'Cause it's gonna take awhile before I'm even ready
Yeah, it's gonna be awhile before I take that first step
I guess I just need to know You're still looking for me
That You still miss me and You're willing to wait for me
Hollowed out...and feeling so unstable
From reaping all I've sown
Swallowed whole...and knowing I'm unable
To be the same I was before
There's nowhere to hide when you're so transparent
There's nowhere to go unless you come home again
I wish I hadn't run in the first place
It's gonna take awhile but I'm almost ready
Yeah, it's gonna be awhile before I take that first step
I guess I just need to know You're still looking for me
That You still miss me and You're willing to wait for me

I've tried it all and failed miserably
And I've seen too much to ever forget
I've acted out on all my wildest fantasies
But what am I left with?
