It's Tell Them Tuesday

Good morning. This is one of those days, where there is a lot to do, and no time to waste. But I wanted to go and do my Tell them Tuesday. So I hope you will pop over there and appreciate with me, the people that I love. And I hope it will make you think of someone that you appreciate and make sure you tell them today. Write them a letter, e-mail or give them a call.

Here is an update from Nadene on Joshua:

Hospital Ain't Home But It Must Do For Now
Posted 8 hours ago
Well, word from Dr. Gratias this evening is that Joshua will be in the hospital for a few more days until he stops having diarrhea. He said that because of the chemo that the body's good flora in the intestine is gone and maybe why this Rotovirus is hanging on so long. Please pray as he receives his minerals by IV. We thank you for going before the Father on Joshua's behalf. I'm closing for now because it is late and I must sleep. God bless you and keep you.

Update from Nadene-March 30

Dr. Gratias came in earlier today and checked Joshua. He said that he will need a blood transfusion, which Joshua received really well this afternoon. He said that Joshua will be getting some scans in the next week or so and then we will be on our way to Cincinnati Children's Hospital around April 6. There at that hospital the doctors will see if Joshua's cancer has shrunk enough to do the operations necessary to save his life. Please pray that all goes well here and there and everywhere! As we have already experienced, life is fagile and it must be handled with much care. We are praying and believing for a complete healing from cancer in Joshua! Please pray with me as we seek God in the midst of all of this overwhelming sadness. Please pray that we will lean on God's promises found in his word.
Joel 2:32: "And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call

Why do the Righteous Suffer...Great is our Lord!

EMERGENCY PRAYER REQUEST FOR BABY STELLAN- http://www.mycharmingkids.net/

I have a dear friend named Niki. We were pen pals when I was young and lonely, living on the mission field. She made me feel important and she was the best letter writer. We never actually met until years later, after losing contact, and we were roomates in college. I remember looking at my room list and thinking, "How do I know this name?" When I realized it was her, I was so excited. My far away dorm where I did not know anyone, didn't seem so far away. She was a great roommate.
Later her sister came to our college and you could tell they were very close. There were also really talented by God. They could sing, play the piano and they WROTE THEIR OWN MUSIC. My favorite song was a song Called "The Blood Speaks". It was incredible.
You can see Niki under my blog list. She writes about her precious little girl called Halley. What a great story there as well!
Just recently I got the news that her sweet sister was diagnosed with MS. I am telling you this, becuase I want you to meet her. She has a rock solid faith, and she is finding her comfort in the God. You must go read her story today.

My Praying Friends- UPDATED

UPDATE FROM JOSHUA-
Let me tell you, Joshua has some good results from his tumor marker test, AFP. We started out with it registering over 700,000 now it is down to 91,000. The lower this tumor marker goes the smaller the cancer growth is in Joshua's little body.
Dr. Gratias also tells me that Joshua is due for some more scans Thursday. I know that those CT Scans are going to show this tumor shrinking and dying away, unlike how God wants our oldman to fall away from the new man.
Dr. Gratias also tells me that during this 2nd Cycle that Joshua will be headed to meet Dr. Geller up at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. This means that we are ahead of schedule. We weren't due up there for another 2 Cycles. Amen, thank you Lord Jesus! God is definately at work 24/7 in this little boy's body and life! Well, we're leaving the children's hospital now. Please keep Joshua in your prayers everyday. I pray upon every rememberance of us in prayer that you will be blessed
UPDATE FROM GINA ON SAWYER-
They are headed back from Shands right now. It just happened that her grandfather was brought to Gainsville with a serious infection. So in God's great timing, she was able to visit with him as well today. She feels like she was heard by the doctors today. And they seem to be giving her a plan that she feels will produce some answers. Pray for her, they are all very tired and her oldest son has been fighting a fever for 2 days. We still need God's hand on this family.

I want you to think of these faces today. Pray for my friend Gina as they go to Shands today and try to figure out what is going on with their baby Sawyer. He has had some health issues for a long while now and we are praying for wisdom from the doctors to finally give some answer. Also pray for Cash. He is still so small and his mom is tired. Pray for her to get through this really scary stage and start getting quality sleep. She lost a son 5 years ago after having him for only 2 short weeks, so this little boy is an answer to prayer. So pray for sleep, health and strength for Little Cash.
And then last but not least, continue to pray for sweet little Joshua. He has a long fight ahead of him, but his parents and all of us serve a mighty God. Be in prayer today and thank you for standing with us in Faith.

Joshua is on day 2 of chemo and he has 3 more days to go. Day 1 is always hard because it takes so long to run the chemo drugs through the IV. He is doing great and is getting all the food, fun, and attention a cancer patient can possibly have. Joshua is having a hard time with the reactions from the medications, please pray for him as I know you do! Thanks
God keeps reminding of scriptures with His promises. Prayer is the glue that holds us to God but God is the glue that holds us together.

Thoughtful Thursday

This is our Story Time lady at the Library, she is incredible. I want to do something to point a different person to Kayliegh every week. But Thursdays are real low key and I have to try and plan something. This week I took a box of candles to our Story Time Teacher and told her about Kayliegh. She promised to go home and look at her story and she was actually very happy about the candles. I hope you found someone today that you could share Kayleigh's story with!

Birthday Dinner

Tonight we enjoyed dinner at the Mellow Mushroom with the Edewaards. Alyssa and Price were so sweet to give their Uncle B a sweet note and hat. We had a great time, hyper Elizabeth and all! Thanks Edewaards...

No ordinary Day...if the world only knew

Around the beginning of the 5th century, a young British boy was taken captive by men from Ireland. He was taken by these captives and sold into slavery. Forced to take care of pigs, he spent his days thinking of his home, his upbringing in the Lord and the time he had wasted serving God. So in those fields, he began to pray and seek the heart of God. He found himself praying over 100 times a day, and staying in constant communication with the Savior he had neglected in his youth. After about 6 years, God spoke to this young man in a dream. He told him to get up and travel 200 miles toward a ship...for he was going home.
When this young man made it home, he dedicated himself to the study of the word. And quickly became a bishop in his church. God coninued to visit this young man in his dreams. And every time, he would compare his conversations with the scripture and found a deep conection to his dreams and the will of God for his life.
It was one of these dreams that he was visited by the people of Ireland, calling him to return and share the gospel of Jesus Christ with their country. And so, this young man returned to the place that had enslaved him and gave his life the spreading of the Gospel in the country of Ireland. Once a very wicked people, given over to killing their first born, and making anything they desired into a god to worship, they now had a widespread conversion to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
And so, as the world celebrates with their shamrocks and Green beer, take heart in knowing, they are celebrating one of our earliest missionaries. Someone who loved his enemy. A man who followed God when the world said it was crazy. Who found meaning in his captivity and fell in love with his Savior. And who was the leader in changing a nations heart to serving the One True God.
Happy St. Patrick's Day.

Three post in one day!

Just wanted to encourage you to take advantage of the Easter Holiday coming up. If you go to http://www.desiringgod.org/ there are all sorts of great things you can do to reach out to your neighbors. Many of my family and I are giving these great books by Jon Piper as gifts to those we want to reach.

You can get books at a special rate by ordering in large quantities. So we ordered 100 of these! The fields are ripe, but for how long?
Keep reading, there are 3 other post from today and one from last night, (If you have some catching up to do!)

Love you all.
Tammy

It's not just a ring (Or when it rains, it pours?)

Continue to pray for Nadene and Joshua. He is still in the hospital. His little body is fighting an infection and really burning up with fever. Nadene is tired and to top it off, one of the help there at the hospital has swiped her wedding band! The enemy is putting up a big fight, but Nadene is not backing down. He seems to be coming from every corner..but she is trusting in the Savior who owns those corners. Just pray for her today and continue to get those Knees dirty!

Seven Months Old

Posted by Picasa
How is it that she is already seven months old? Where is the time going. I went all over town today trying to get a studio picture..no luck! So we did our own photo shoot at home! We are so blessed that in August of 2008, this little girl changed our lives. Elizabeth adores her and Anna is enamored by her big sister. Life is so blessed. And we know who these blessings are from!

Prayer Request and my thoughtful Thursday!

This is Morgan, she is the daughter of a dear friend of mine and needs your prayers. She has been having seizures and the doctors are not finding the cause. They are also a little bit passive about it and this is concerning to her mother as well as the rest of us who love Morgan. So pray for wisdom for her mom, to ask the right questions and for the right people to come into their lives and bring answers. And pray for the right doctor who will care for this little girl and be a part of her becoming whole again.
This is Cash. He is my preemie buddy. His mom is home with him now, but very, very tired and not getting a lot of support that she desperately needs. Pray for her peace and the ability to find a rythm at home in feeding, sleeping and rest. His mom and I were friends in college so we go back a bit. She is doing great, but under the normal first time mom (though not a first time mom...another story, you can read her blog to the right under my blog list, her blog is "The day in the life of...") jitters and fears. Pray for support and care and compassion to come her way. Pray for Cash to get his weight up so mom can feel a little more at ease. And pray for her to now start to enjoy this amazing journey she is on.
As for my Thoughtful Thursday...I have been shut in with sick kids since Saturday. So today, I just walked down to a neighbors house with a note and little trinket to tell her we loved her. (She has been sick for a while, she had a stroke back in February and has had a hard year...lost her 2nd grandchild to PDK) So it was not big, but she was so happy to see us on her front porch and I was happy to see her smile. Find out more about Thoughtful Thursday at the link below.

Keep on Praying for Joshi!

Joshua Updates

Joshua Is In Surgery As I Type This Update
Posted 59 minutes ago
Joshua is having a feeding tube put in this morning. They took him back about 8:30 AM. Please pray for him, the doctors, and support staff as they try to make this surgery a success. Both of the doctors in the operating room are believers...so that is of great comfort. We can pray that our LORD will guide their hands while doing such a delicate proceedure. Thank you for praying with us! We love you!

Words from Joshua's mom

Update from Nadene: (March 9)

Joshi's asleep with baby bear &getting his blood transfussion right now. His oncologist came by and he believes if he keeps on improving the way he is right now, that he won't need the feeding tube. He also said that his wbc, white blood cell count, is up from 0 to 54. He also said the tumor is much smaller & softer, which is great news! PTL! We love you and thanks for your continued prayers and support! ~Nadene {JLF~Matt. 18:5}

Joshua had to go back into the hospital because he had sores show up. And we know that with a low immune system, this can be fatal. So they are doing better and being encouraged. Here is a part of Nadene's update that I loved:

To our amazement, there is something called Magic Mouthwash. Joshua's mouth is doing much better since we started using this wonderful invention of medicine! Joshua felt well enough that he wanted some KFC last night...you know...Kentucky Fried Chicken. I put in a call to Pappaw Bean and about 30 minutes later Pappaw was knocking at our door with the special delivery for our special little man, Joshua. This reminded me of these verses in the Bible...and they have been of great comfort lately. "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asked receives, and he wo seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." Matthew 7:7-8 I would encourage you to do a word study on this because the verb tenses in the greek version implies that it is a continuous action...meaning do not stop asking, seeking, or knocking. I just love remembering the Word that I've learned and want to encourage you all to get in the MEAT of the WORD!

Cookies

See recipe below...I added coconut oil instead of canola and a few macadamia nuts!

Nadene's post...couldn't choose just one part! Here is all of it!

Joshua's 1st Blood Drive
Posted 1 day ago
Today is the first blood drive for Joshua! I was so worried about getting one organized and God laid this in my lap...literally. "Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." Matthew 6:34 During a visit from my supervisor, Robin Kaylor, I discoverd that Friday March 5th is their blood drive at my workplace, Whirlpool Customer Service Center. She pulled some strings up the ladder and the word got back to Blood Assurance that all the blood donated today is to go to Joshua's account. There is Power In the Blood...Amen? . This means every pint of blood equals $10.00 credit! There is no need for a type match either. This is going into the bank and if it matches Joshua's blood they may use it. Joshua already had to have blood transfusion in the hospital and it will not be his last during the course of his chemo therapy. Thank you all at Whirlpool from the bottom of our hearts, a big THANK YOU! You guys are all wonderful for helping us in this capacity...it means so much!
"But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin," 1 John 1:7
I emplore you to savor every waking moment you have with your families and loved ones. If you do not typically reach out of your comfort zone, do it anyway...you will miss out on a blessing. God has shown me so much on this rocky road but He is not ready for me to bow out. We are nearing the end of Joshua's 1st Chemo Cycle. There are 6 or more to go with more than 21 days a piece. Please pray that we have God's strength during these times. Aside from the parents who have gone through an ordeal such as this, God is the only one who can walk us through this valley of the shadow of death! God's Word is such a light during this very dark time. For instance, here is a verse that really speaks to me.
"We do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing yet the inward man is beaing renewed day by day. For our light affliction which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are sween, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal." II Corinthians 4:16-18
Joshua took my hand in bed night before last and said, "Momma, we didn't pray." This touched my heart and could only praise the Lord for my baby boy, Joshua. I lean on the verse "Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ." Philippians 1:3 That verse has touched me many a time but I found Joshua's words as confirmation that a child at such a young age is wanting to seek the Lord's face in prayer then I believe that the Lord wants to do great and mighty things with Joshua...just as the Joshua of the old testament. I pray that God spares Joshua of cancer so he may live his life glorifying Jehovah Rapha, The Lord God Who Heals!

My Thoughtful Thursday

My Thursday was spent with friends. I did not know what to do for my Thoughtful Thursday. So I made up a goodie bag and grabbed a book by Billy Graham. I walked up to a mom I never met at the library today and told her why I was participating in Thoughful Thursday. I gave her the link to Kayliegh's blog and ask her to go on line and read her story. She just smiled and said thank you. But I know she will go home and read her story. One more person will be blessed by this little miracle!

I spent the rest of my day with Gina and her kids. We had a picnic and enjoyed what felt like a true Spring day.

Thoughtful Thursday!

Words from a Faithful Mom

PRAYER UPDATE FROM JOSHUA'S MOM
I just feel so inadequate to handle this sadness that looms over this house. Proverbs 15:13 "A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken." I pray that our spirit does not break but only bend. Then I think of the strong, loving, longing arms of God waiting on us to come to Him. He never left or forgot us. Psalm 32:7 "Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah." We are the ones that do not remember to approach the throne of grace. These verses have always been an encouragment in my covenant faith with the Lord Jesus. Hebrews 4:16 "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." Romans 8:31-32 "What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?"Dear Heavenly Father,My prayer to day is that you to bring a bright hope tomorrow for my son, Joshua. I know there is no brighter a place than with your son, Jesus. But, God, please spare him his life and the suffering he is having to endure. God I know that this prayer is selfish but I prayed for a child so long and now that you have blessed me with a child as special as Joshua, I'm not ready to give him up just yet or to see him continue suffer with this cancer. Heavenly Father, I know that if it is your will you will heal Joshua how you see fit. I pray that you will choose to heal his little body here on earth. I know you know my heart and hear its cries for help only you can bring. I love you, Lord! I give you praises for giving us a helpful church, family, and friends. I must close now, Lord. My child is calling my name. I must hear and go to him and comfort him with a mother's love. Thanks, Lord, for everything that you have done and that you are going to do. -Your Child Nadene Says "Amen!"

Words from Nadene

I love what Nadene wrote to us today:

Please pray for me and Tim as we walk together, side-by-side holding Joshua's hand during this dark hour. God is getting us though this...He is holding us up. It reminded me of a piece of symbolizm that I visit often. I was looking at a small book I received a long time ago by a friend. It is a painting called Forgiven and was painted by Thomas Blackshear II. The artists rendering depicts a man holding a hammer in one hand and a large nail in the other. He is so exhausted and collapsed in Jesus' nail scarred hand amidst Jesus' shed blood. I praise the LORD for allowing such a realization of a portion what He truely is for us during these dark times. Even when we do not know the words to utter the Holy Spirit prays for us. This is a blessing God knows that we are so grieved at times His 3rd person takes over and interceeds for us. If you would please, agree with me in this prayer to God the Father by Jesus, our High Priest.

She ask us to continue to pray as Joshua is going full steam ahead in his fight with this Cancer. Pray that he has an understanding of what he must go through, and that the fear will become less and less.
